Robin Sidell
North End/West End

If you’ve been to Boston’s North End, you’ve probably heard of the North Street Grille. The popular brunch spot has been owned and operated by Lynn native Robin Sidell for the past 20 years. In that time, Sidell has made it her mission to immerse herself in her community; “Welcome home,” the restaurant’s motto, reflects her commitment to that mission.
After learning about ABCD’s work in a local publication, Sidell decided she wanted to use her role as a chef and restaurant owner to aid ABCD’s North End/West End Neighborhood Opportunity Center in their food security efforts. “Being surrounded by food, I just thought it made sense for restaurants in the North End to have a more active role,” she says. Since then, Sidell has been involved with everything from hosting neighborhood dinners, donating holiday meals, and distributing food to the North End’s elderly population.
Sidell doesn’t take for granted how much the community has supported her business. “Especially during the pandemic, we were only able to survive because of our neighborhood clientele,” she says. “The neighborhood has supported us since day one, and I am more than happy to give back.”
