Harbor Point / Project Care & Concern
“It’s an honor and fulfilling to help those in need and see the smiles on their faces.”
Mark Ferguson considers himself an average person who helps people. A resident of Harbor Point in Dorchester since the 1960’s, Mark is a volunteer with Project Care & Concern, a Dorchester based programs that focuses on building nurturing communities “where children are cherished, families are supported and elders are respected.” Mark has been volunteering with Project Care & Concern on and off since 2008. He goes to the organization four days a week and he helps with coordinating holiday celebrations such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, for community members, sorting and handing our clothes in the thrift shop and assisting the elders. When asked about his volunteer work, Mark said seeing the smile his help and work puts on the faces of others keeps him inspired.
