“It’s nice to have people you can talk to… I have tons of friends. It helps me. They make me happy.”
Dominica native, Grace Peltier doesn’t miss a beat. She’s been volunteering with the ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center (FSC) senior programs for more than 10 years. She welcomes new members to the Mattapan FSC and is a staple at the center. Every Tuesday she leads the senior exercise class and on the last Monday of each month she volunteers and helps coordinate the brown bag food distribution program.
For the past 45 years Grace and her husband have lived in Boston where she raised her family including her son and daughter and her four grandchildren. Grace worked in the nursing field for more than 30 years. She retired from Tufts New England Medical Center after 28 years as a nursing technician. She enjoys traveling, attending mass, gospel singing and spending time with her church sisters. When asked what her goals are she said her goals are to continue to be kind, healthy and happy.
