Myrlande Israel Dell is the resident services coordinator at Keystone Apartments in Dorchester, which she describes as a “very nice place to call home for elders and those living with disabilities.” In this role, she supports and provides services to residents and lends an empathetic ear regarding any challenges they may offer.

 

One of her important roles is helping to coordinate the ABCD Food Delivery and Brown Bag programs for her residents. She offers praise for ABCD’s Food Insecurity program staff who she says are “always there to answer her call. ”Keystone Apartment residents also benefit from ABCD’s Fuel Assistance and Free Tax Preparation programs. “I am very thankful to Kathy Vo who comes onsite to help residents with their taxes,” she said.

 

Myrlande said that she can’t fully express how she feels about receiving the Community Hero Award. “The great thing about my job is the ability to help people without expecting anything in return,” she said. “I am thankful to Keystone and ABCD for allowing me to do this work.”

 

She lives in Medford with her husband and three children.
