“A lot of my work is in Roxbury, Dorchester, South Boston – wherever our faculty and students are doing work. To be able to share the university’s resources makes a difference and positive impact. It’s important that young students have organizations like ABCD to pitch in. I’m out in front creating partnerships because community outreach fills a void. If I can be a part of the solution, then all the better.”
As the Director of Community Relations at UMass Boston, Philip Carver was nominated by ABCD for his sincere commitment to enhancing the lives and relationships of those in the Dorchester Community.
He has fostered many relationships between DNSC and local businesses, including Boston Police District C-11 and the Dorchester Board of Trade, which assists in organizing an annual holiday party and gift drive benefiting local families.
He has made it a priority to keep ABCD managers engaged regarding significant issues that may impact residents. Philip has been a member of the ABCD Dorchester Advisory Board for eight years and continues to advocate for neighborhood residents.
