“Mother Caroline Academy turned from work to a calling for me.  It fits into my life as a pastor and someone who tends to the lives of people and to the futures of young people. It’s not a job. It doesn’t feel like work. It’s a ministry for me.”

After a decade of service, Pastor Karen Dottin-Ricketts was appointed as the Assistant Head of Schools for Mother Caroline Academy & Education Center in 2015. Her love for the private, tuition-free school for girls generated a bond with students and families from Roxbury, Dorchester, and other underserved areas of Boston that continues to flourish.

Her drive to build community relationships helps to ensure Mother Caroline Academy remains a sustainable and viable force within the community. With a mission to create impactful community leaders, she stands by the school’s conviction that girls from limited financial means in Boston have the right to equal access of quality education to achieve a successful future. She is dedicated to supporting young people to reach their full potential.
