Antonette Cabral

Jamaica Plain APAC/Citywide Boston Hispanic Center

“My whole career was to work with youth and make changes in their lives. I want to find resources to get them off the street and show them that there are options. There’s a huge stigma with police and the community, but we can move forward. Being raised in this city and being a police officer, I see the challenges we face as a community on a daily basis. I’m creating a bridge over those challenges, to build trust and relationships. It’s going to take commitment and consistency to make that change.”

Antonette Cabral serves her community beyond her duties as a Boston Police Community Service Officer. She is an advocate for Jamaica Plain and Boston’s Cape Verdean community. As a mentor she’s helped create opportunity for at-risk youth through ABCD SummerWorks and the Boston Police Teen Academy.

Whether she’s taking teens on a field trip or to volunteer for the neighborhood food drive, Officer Cabral works to create bonds with young residents through dialogue and support.
